ILDR Fellowship: Legislative Drafting and Legal Research Opportunities

The Institute of Legislative Drafting and Research (ILDR), established in 1989, is offering an exciting fellowship opportunity for law graduates interested in legislative drafting and legal research. This prestigious program provides a hands-on experience in shaping the legal framework of India.

Purpose and Eligibility for the ILDR Fellowship

The ILDR Fellowship is designed to enhance capacity-building in legislative drafting. Graduates of 5-year integrated LL.B., 3-year LL.B., and 3-year B.A. (Law) courses are eligible to apply. The program is ideal for law students and recent graduates who are eager to gain real-world legal drafting experience.

Duration and How to Apply

The fellowship spans up to three months, with the possibility of an extension based on performance. Candidates must submit their applications, including a character certificate, through speed post or by email at least one month before their desired start date. Key Terms and Conditions

  • Formal Dress Code is mandatory.
  • Fellows must attend from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Library access is provided for reference purposes only, and borrowing is not permitted.
  • A Police Clearance Certificate is required for the entry pass.

Fellows will work closely with ILDR’s legislative experts, contributing to research, drafting, and legal documentation. Throughout the fellowship, interns will also submit weekly progress reports and present a final report upon completion.

Although non-stipendiary, the ILDR Fellowship offers an invaluable learning experience in legislative drafting. Successful completion, with at least 90% attendance, will earn fellows a certificate from the institute.
